The Big Sandy Little League seems to be up to par for this season. The Little League may have enough money to operate for the remainder of the year, but they need new equipment soon. Nancy Blackwell, a Big Sandy resident said, “I hope we can make enough money off the grocery give away to buy new catcher's equipment, bats, balls and possible new uniforms for the all star teams.”....

Tenn. Lottery Scholarship Standards Under Scrutiny

Some Tennessee students who qualify for the first lottery scholarships this fall may be slipping through a window that won't be open long.

Current law says high school students with either a 3.0 grade point average or a 19 score on the ACT college entrance exam qualify for one of the lottery scholarships, which range from $1,500 to $4,000 a year.
